Undergraduate and Clinical Training

After growing up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Dr. Daniels received the Outstanding Student Initiative scholarship to attend the University of British Columbia where he pursued his Bachelor's of Science (while also spending a lot of time playing music - see the Fun Facts page). He then returned to Winnipeg where he received an entrance scholarship to the University of Manitoba's medical school. After medical school, Dr. Daniels pursued further training in Core Internal Medicine and General Internal Medicine at the University of Alberta.

Faculty Appointment and Masters of Health Professions Education

In July 2009, Dr. Daniels started on faculty as an Assistant Professor with the Department of Medicine and also began the Master of Health Professions Education program at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He defended his thesis in 2013, supervised by Drs. Yudkowsky and Bordage in Chicago and Dr. Gierl in Edmonton.

In 2015, Dr. Daniels was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure, and in 2020 to Full Professor.
